What does the Writing Center Do?

Although the Writing Center is not under the Library unbrella, it compliments our services to patrons.  Here's what the Writing Center Does:

The University Writing Center, located in room 008 of the Belk Library, offers free services to writers working on all kinds of writing projects, such as papers for courses, applications to graduate school, personal writing, and writing for publication. We work with writers at all stages of the writing process and from every academic discipline, giving informed, sensitive feedback on the writer's work. Please note that we do not offer editing services, nor do we guarantee perfect papers! Instead, we aim to teach students to become better readers and editors of their own papers.

To set up an appointment to work on a piece of writing, please call 3144. We are open Monday through Thursday from 9-9 and Friday from 9-1. E-mail carrollel@appstate.edu if you have any questions, concerns, or requests.
